WATER QUALITY ENHANCEMENT AREAS, A NEW TOOL FOR LOCAL GOVERNMENTS
Course Number: 6630
Come join us for the latest tool to enhance Florida’s water quality under Part IV of Chapter 373 (November 17, from noon to 1:30).
Section 373. 4134, Fla. Stat. went into effect on July 1, providing for water quality enhancement areas (WQEA) utilizing innovative green technologies to enhance water quality. A WQEA provides off site treatment for an impact site. It is an area where a natural system constructed, operated, managed, and maintained for offsite regional treatment provides enhancement credits pursuant to a water quality enhancement area permit in a designated service area approved in an Environmental Resource Permit. The credits are only available for use by governmental entities. This new statute provides DEP, the Water Management District and other governmental entities a new tool to protect and improve water quality.
This webinar is coordinated by the Environmental and Land Use Law Section (ELULS).
