Virtual Reality: 44th Annual Local Government Law Seminar to be Held Virtually

Following an intense discussion, the CCLGL’s Executive Committee made the difficult decision to hold the 44th Annual Local Government Law in Florida Seminar virtually, instead of in person, in light of continuing concerns related to the COVID pandemic and the uncertainty over how quickly the COVID-19 vaccination process will progress. Faced with a deadline for canceling the hotel contract to avoid cancellation charges, the Section felt the most responsible decision was to take the a conservative approach for the health and welfare of our presenters and our members. The Section’s Chair, Don Crowell, stated: “I am so disappointed [but] I can’t wait for the day when I can see you all in person again.” The Seminar will be held using the Florida Bar’s InReach GoToMeeting software on April 30 – May 1, 2021. The Section’s annual meeting and awards ceremony will be held virtually during lunch on Friday, April 30th. Chair-Elect Amanda Coffey confirmed that “despite the change in format, we anticipate an extremely informative and interesting Seminar, with a strong panel of preeminent attorney presenters.” Keep an eye out for the upcoming Seminar agenda and registration information!
